POLICE REPORT-High School Student Found Murdered
« on: December 02, 2016, 08:22:32 PM »
An 18-year-old high school student, Matthew Martin, was found dead in his bedroom at his parent's Pine Road home in Bremerton Washington. Matt was a senior at Olympic High School where he played football for the the Olympic Trojans. He was well known in the community; Matt had quarterbacked the Trojans to their first state title and he had earned a full scholarship to the University of Washington, Seattle, where he was to begin his freshman year in 2017.

Matt's body was discovered by his younger brother Thomas upon returning home after band practice at the same high school. Police indicate that Matt died of a single 25 caliber gunshot to the head. His younger brother discovered his nearly naked body at around 6 PM. It appeared that Matt had returned home around 3 PM and had undressed to take a shower. It is surmised that Matt knew his assailant; there were no signs of forced entry and it is further indicated that there were no signs of a struggle. Matt's dead body was found sprawled across his bed in only his underwear.

Upon further investigation, the Bremerton County Sheriffs Department, found Matt's personal, handwritten diary in a drawer of his desk in his bedroom. Preliminary reports indicate that in recent months Matt had been sexually involved with another male student at the high school; the diary did not indicate the name of the student with whom Matt had been involved. The sheriffs department indicated that a full investigation was underway into Matt's death and that further information in this case would be forthcoming.
